Minnesota-based Julie Buffalohead is a citizen of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma. She uses metaphors, iconography, and storytelling narratives in her artwork to describe emotional and subversive American Indian cultural experiences, and often analyzes the commercialization of American Indian cultures.
